UQ's Enterprise Agreement

The University of Queensland Enterprise Agreement 2014 – 2017, is a Single Enterprise Agreement covering Academic and Professional staff and TESOL Language Teachers

The Agreement operates from 31 October 2014 and key changes include:
  • Salary increases – 12% over the life of the Agreement;
  • Long Service Leave flexibility – reduced notice periods for taking leave, staff can apply to cash out an equivalent period of leave to the period of leave approved to be taken and staff can request to take their leave at half-pay;
  • Consultation - consultation with affected staff on a proposed change to regular rostered hours or ordinary hours of work;
  • Equity – commitment to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment to 1.4% of full-time equivalent University staff by 31 March 2014 in addition to the aspirational target of 2.8%;
  • Early Career Academic Appointments – Creation of 20 Early Career Academic appointments over the life of the Agreement;
  • Leave direction – provisions to direct staff to take an increased amount of recreation leave to reduce excess leave balances;
  • Fixed-term employment – additional fixed-term reasons including organisational change and decrease in enrolments;
  • Misconduct - revised provisions for managing misconduct/serious misconduct.
